On Thursday 19 September, Sporties visited Hammondville Public School to present them with a ClubGRANTS cheque for $34,780.
This funding will provide access to the Learning Links Psychology in Schools – Mental Health & Wellbeing Program.
It will support up to 60 vulnerable students using evidence-based programs to address concerns such as anxiety, depression, low self-esteem, anger management, and poor social skills.
Principle Jodie Clark says this support will be immeasurable for our school community.
“We don’t have full time counsellors available, so we do struggle to get individual and group sessions going for our kids, and we do have a huge population of neurodiverse children.
“We do have a lot of diversity here; about 22 per cent of our kids are from a non-English speaking background and we have bout 60 defence families. We also have a range of different learning needs across all grades.
“We will set up this program to ensure we capture as many at-risk kids as we possibly can”.
Sporties is proud to be able to support the kids in our community with important programs like this.
