Securing the future for Sporties…

The Future of Your Club

Moorebank Sports Club was formed in 1970 to promote and encourage junior sport in the Moorebank, Hammondville, Wattle Grove and Holsworthy areas.

From humble beginnings, our Club has now grown to have more than 30,000 members and 110 workers employed at the Club. We support over 1,700 players across five sporting codes who call Hammondville Park home.

Our community is growing… and we want to grow with you.

Contracts Signed!

Moorebank Sports Club is delighted to confirm the contract for the sale of land along Heathcote Road to our organisation, has been signed by Liverpool Council and Moorebank Sports Club. This was announced at the Annual General Meeting.

This formal agreement paves the way for the expansion of our current venue to incorporate meeting and event spaces, more restaurants, family facilities, and additional entertainment offerings that our Members and the wider community, will love and enjoy.

As part of the deal, Moorebank Sports Club has committed to ensuring there will always be sufficient parking at Hammondville Park to accommodate our sporting codes and Club patrons. The acquired land will allow us to find the much sought after solution to previous parking congestion issues.

Moorebank Sports Club Director Alby Taylor said this much-needed project can now get underway.

“This is fantastic news for our Members and the Community. The signing of this contract means we can commence planning the future of the Moorebank Sports Club and the Hammondville Park Precinct with the aim to deliver state-of-the-art sporting and social facilities for thousands of families in southwest Sydney.

“Our vision is to provide our members and guests, local businesses, and the wider community, with access to a community lifestyle hub that has all their sport, recreation, or entertainment needs in one place. Today is the start of that vision becoming the reality. Our thanks go to Mayor Ned Mannoun and Councillor Fiona McNaught who have championed our quest to acquire this much needed land for expansion.”

Liverpool Mayor Ned Mannoun says “This is an historic day, where we have achieved significant progress in delivering better outcomes for the community and for Hammondville Park.

“Sporties has always been a valuable partner of Liverpool Council, and our community deserves the best facilities. All proceeds will go into Hammondville Park to help fund the new Aquatic Centre and deliver the vision of the master plan the community supported”.

Moorebank Sports Club will now begin planning the next exciting stage of its evolution.
