Moorebank Cricket Club Wraps Up a Stellar 2024/25 Season

The summer cricket season officially concluded on Sunday 30 March 2025, and what a season it was for Moorebank Cricket Club — filled with strong growth, exciting competition, and premiership success. The club celebrated the end of the season with the 2024/25 Junior Presentation, held at Moorebank Sports Club last Saturday. With an estimated 200 guests in attendance, it was a fantastic afternoon of recognition and community spirit as players, families, and coaches gathered to acknowledge the dedication and achievements of our young cricketers. The Senior Presentation will follow on Saturday 14 June, taking place in the Terrace at Sporties from 3–5pm.

This year saw Moorebank Cricket Club grow significantly across all age groups. We fielded 4 teams and 42 players in the Minis/Cricket Blast (Under 7 & Under 9), 7 teams and 74 players in the Juniors (Under 10–16), and 5 teams with 75 players in the Seniors (Open Age). The club is also proud to have increased female participation, with 9 female players joining this season. In support of this growth, a girls-only training camp was led by Gaurav Joshi in October, encouraging skill development and confidence for young female cricketers.

On the field, the club celebrated a number of standout performances. Four teams made it to their respective Grand Finals, with three securing premiership wins in the Fairfield-Liverpool Cricket Association. Under 13 Blue capped off an undefeated season with a dominant Grand Final win — their third consecutive undefeated premiership. The Under 14 team clinched victory in a thrilling final that went down to the last ball, delivering their best bowling and fielding performance of the season and earning their fourth premiership in five years. In the Seniors competition, 1st/2nd Grade White led the ladder all season and finished strong with a premiership win following a powerful bowling display. Although U9 White narrowly missed out by just one run in their Grand Final, the team showed incredible promise and has plenty to look forward to next season. Several other teams, including U9 Blue and 6th Grade White Seniors, reached the semi-finals, further highlighting the depth and talent throughout the club.

Congratulations to all players for their hard work, dedication, and sportsmanship throughout the season. Thank you to our incredible coaches, managers, and volunteers who continue to go above and beyond to make each season a success. Moorebank Cricket Club has much to be proud of as we reflect on 2024/25 — and even more to look forward to in the season ahead.
