Moorebank Sports Club is proud to partner with Cocky Guides to launch a new community initiative supporting the blind and low-vision community across Sydney’s South West.
White Cane Mingle is a welcoming and inclusive event where people who are blind or have low vision, along with their families, friends, and supporters can connect, share experiences, and build meaningful local relationships.
The first White Cane Mingle was held on 12 November 2025 and a second one already arranged for 3 December aimed at celebrating the International Day of People with Disability. Events will continue in 2026 every few months.
Attendees enjoyed a relaxed morning of conversation, community connection, and a guided orientation around the venue to help familiarise themselves with the space. Complimentary transport was also available from nearby suburbs and train stations. The guests also heard from Jason Stubbs from Blind Sports & Recreation NSW/ACT.
White Cane Mingle brings the broader community together with blind and low-vision individuals to help build meaningful social networks. We look forward to seeing this new community initiative grow and make a lasting impact.
