On Sunday 21 September, Sporties joined members of the community for the annual Care for a Walk event, with a few hundred people walking in solidarity to raise awareness and support for vulnerable families.
This year’s event was another great success, raising vital funds through the generosity of corporate sponsors and participant donations. The atmosphere was filled with energy and connection, with families, friends, and supporters all joining for a meaningful cause. We are pleased to advise that over $25,000 was raised through this event. All proceeds will go directly towards supporting vulnerable families in our local area through Life Care’s programs and services, including case management, food hampers, Café Connect, and community lunches.
Moorebank Sports Club was proud to be a major supporting partner once again. Our staff had a wonderful time running the Kids Arcade Alley fun games, face painting and running the Food & Drink Stall, helping to create a warm and welcoming environment for all attendees.
We were also honoured to be joined by Federal Member for Hughes, Mr David Moncrieff, and State Member for Holsworthy, Mrs Tina Ayyad, who both showed their support on the day.
The event continues to be a powerful collaboration between Georges River Life Care, Moorebank Sports Club, Freedom Fitness and Liverpool City Council,. Together, we share a united vision, to raise awareness of the challenges faced by vulnerable families and to empower our community to provide ongoing support.
We are deeply grateful for the generosity, drive, and ambition of our founding partners and community supporters. Care for a Walk demonstrates the incredible impact we can achieve when we work hand in hand to care for one another.
