Community ClubGRANTS

ClubGRANTS 2026

Every year, Sporties extends a helping hand to community organisations that provide vital services for people in our local area.

In 2024-25, we provided six organisations with $135,910 in financial contributions through ClubGRANTS. In addition, we provided support through many in-kind donations and sponsorships.

This year, 2025-2026 we are proud to present a cheque totalling $159,990 for category one funding.

Georges River Life Care

GRLC is a not-for-profit community organisation that has been in operation since 2007. It specialises in family violence support and emergency relief, and offers a positive creative arts program aimed at vulnerable and disadvantaged children, families, and adults with disabilities.

Life Care utilises a network of trusted community partners to meet the needs of the vulnerable people who seek their help and create pathways and opportunities to support improved lifestyle choices.

PROJECT: Community Connect

This funding will go towards their Community Connect initiative, which is a fantastic program that brings food relief and family-friendly engagement to local schools and public spaces. The program aims to reduce social isolation, foster community relationships, and offer immediate support to vulnerable families.

Held in school grounds and public spaces such as such as Nuwarra public School, families can access free meals, pantry hampers, kids’ activities, and support referrals.

We are also supporting their Christmas Hamper and School Backpack initiatives again this year, providing financial relief to vulnerable families in the area.

Gotcha4Life

Gotcha4Life is a not-for-profit foundation committed to creating a mentally fit future for all Australians. Founded in 2017 by media personality Gus Worland, Gotcha4Life delivers preventative mental fitness programs, workshops, campaigns and resources across schools, sporting clubs, workplaces and communities nationwide.

Their mission is to equip people with the tools to strengthen their mental fitness—the ability to navigate life’s highs and lows with resilience. Grounded in evidence-based strategies, their approach focuses on three protective factors: building your emotional muscles, looking after your village and never worrying alone.

PROJECT: Mentally Fit Schools Program

The Sporties funding will go towards Gotcha4Life’s Mentally Fit Schools program, which is a whole-of-school preventative mental health promotion initiative that builds the mental fitness of students, teachers, and families.

Delivered by experienced Gotcha4Life Mental Fitness Educators, the
program empowers participants to develop lifelong wellbeing skills through tailored school action plans, staff workshops, student learning and parent engagement.

Sporties is supporting the Mentally Fit Schools program at Hammondville Public School.

PROJECT: 5 Year Commitment to Women’s Shelter

Sporties will provide funding over the next five years for the new Liverpool Women’s Shelter, providing safe crisis accommodation and trauma-informed support for women and children escaping family and domestic violence.

This financial support will strengthen essential shelter operations, including case management, children’s support, safety planning, advocacy, practical assistance and transition support, and will improve safety, wellbeing and long-term outcomes for vulnerable families.

Miracle Babies

Each year in Australia, around 48,000 newborns need the care of a NICU or Special Care Nursery, with 27,000 born prematurely and up to 1,000 losing their fight for life. For families, this unexpected journey is overwhelming and can have lasting emotional impacts.

Since 2005, Miracle Babies Foundation has supported families through high-risk pregnancies, hospital stays, the transition home and beyond. Partnering with health professionals, they provide vital programs, resources, education and funding to improve outcomes for our tiniest and sickest babies.

PROJECT: NurtureTime in Liverpool Hospital

This grant will allow Miracle Babies to deliver 15 sessions per week of NurtureTime in Liverpool Hospital NICU for 6 months.

NurtureTime is in-hospital peer support for families going through the emotionally-challenging journey in the NICU after having their baby born premature or sick.

Delivered by parents who have been through a similar journey, it aims to help them cope with the unexpected turn of events and what is happening with their baby, to reduce the risk of parental mental illness.

Heroes with Ability

Heroes With Ability is a not-for-profit organisation that promotes inclusive sporting opportunities for young people with physical and mental disabilities.

Their aim is to inspire, teach, motivate, and incorporate all aspects of health and wellbeing, social inclusion, and awareness, for individuals and the communities they live in.

PROJECT: Varying Abilities Sports Schools Program

This funding will support their Varying Abilities Program in schools, which is targeted at both special education schools and state-based education schools, that have cohorts of students living with disability.

Over the course of 12 months, this program is delivered for one hour per week, generally to a class of approximately 30 students with disability. The program uses sport and exercise with a focus on functional movement and skills to promote fun, inclusion, teamwork, communication & fitness.

Wheelchair Rugby League

Wheelchair Rugby League is an inclusive sport that welcomes participants with and without disabilities.

Our wheelchair-based sport is a variation of the traditional Rugby League running game, allowing athletes of all abilities to compete alongside each other.

Wheelchair Rugby League’s inclusiveness has made it immensely popular, offering a unique level playing field that few other sports can provide.

Participants with and without disability can play on the same team as their siblings, friends, family and colleagues.

PROJECT: Free Community Activation

This funding will go towards a free community activation in our area for people with disabilities and their families, creating opportunities for social connection, physical activity, and community participation.

The event is run by Wheelchair Rugby League and provides a safe and welcoming environment where participants can experience and take part in adaptive sports, with specialised wheelchairs and equipment.

Fair Fight Foundation – Supertee

The Supertee is an award-winning medical garment designed to make hospital stays easier and more comfortable for children and their families. Its unique design allows medical lines to be easily accessed while giving children the freedom to play and imagine. Since launching in 2018, Supertee has been welcomed by major children’s hospitals across Australia and is provided free of charge to children’s hospitals, respite centres and paediatric wards nationwide.

Founded by Jason Sotiris after his young daughter was diagnosed with cancer, Supertee was created to bring comfort and dignity to children during difficult hospital stays. More than just a t-shirt, it helps children feel like the superheroes they are when they need it most.

PROJECT: Supertee Care Packs

Our funding will go towards the purchase and distribution of 192 SUPERTEE CARE PACKS to children at Liverpool Hospital.

These Supertees are clinician-designed hospital garments that transform a standard medical gown into a heroic costume empowering children through imaginative, play during their most vulnerable moments.

Sporties employees will have the opportunity to participate in the packing of these care packs.
