Taking to the stage will be one of the most sought-after acts doing the rounds of the Sydney live circuit, Urban Stone.
Fronted by powerhouse vocalist Tina Garufi, Urban Stone deliver a set of covers and originals to keep fans of old school pub and stage rock coming back for more.
Joining Garufi on stage is slick guitarist Dan Skeed, bass player Kelvin King and drummer Matt Briscoe-Hough.
One of the highlights of Urban Stone’s career was finishing seventh in the Global Battle of the Bands 2007.
While seventh wouldn’t normally be a celebrated accomplishment, when you consider the band finished single figures out of a worldwide talent pool of more than 3000 bands from more than 30 participating countries, it’s pretty special.
The fate was decided in London at the Electric Ballroom in the heart of Camden Town, after they had won the right by being crowned the Australian winners.
The Urban Stone gig guide is constantly full, with the venues of west and south-west Sydney taking up much of their schedule.
The band’s original material has been described as an extremely catchy and fresh form of rock with an old school ’80s melodic edge. It is dynamic.
The band guarantee something for everyone. Their repertoire includes a wide range of hits from the ’70s, ’80s, ’90s and now.
